About Steve: Born in Southern Louisiana, just outside of New Orleans, Steve Simon is a graduate of The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts where he picked up his first camera. In 1995-1997 he attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO on a Basketball Scholarship. In 2004 he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management (BSBM) from the University of Phoenix. Steve got into photography in 2006 just after Hurricane Katrina when he was interviewed by a BBC photographer in the New Orleans area covering the aftermath of the storm. Witnessing a photographer shoot images of a historical event that he had lived through struck a chord with Steve. Within a few weeks he purchased his first DSLR and began to shoot.

Additional Experience: Steve has worked as a Web Designer for McNamara Technology Solutions in Baton Rouge, LA, where he has been instrumental in the development and implementation of several website projects. He has also worked on several print projects including a campaign for the Louisiana Capital Area Film Commission. His work experience also includes working as a project manager and technical liaison for 2 digital effects companies which designed 3D models for film, broadcast television, print, as well as the video game industry. Steve has been involved in several large scale projects including special effects scenes in films such as John Singleton's "Four Brothers", the series of GE commercials for the GEnx Engine and Evolution Train among others in General Electric’s "Ecomagination" commercial campaign, as well as a special effects scene in a Mountain Dew commercial .

Publications: Since 2006 Steve Simon’s Photography has been published in Louisiana Life Magazine, New Orleans Magazine, Rounder’s Magazine, Southern Breeze Magazine, the 2007 Hooters Calendar, special edition issues of Hooters Magazine as well as other publications. Steve’s work can currently be seen in several Louisiana Tourism campaigns for the River Parishes.
